The Importance of the 2nd Amendment
The only way to get used to carry a gun is to start carrying it. Once you have the proper training on use and safety, just start carrying. You can even carry unloaded for a time period until you feel more comfortable.
There is no rush. The more comfortable you are with the weapon the safer it will be for you and everyone else. Do not let the fear stop you from getting certified and trained. A gun is like any other new thing you tackle in life. It takes time to learn and to get over your fears or hesitations. However, this is something that once you learn and understand, it will be a lifelong useable skill that could save the lives of you and your family
